Monty’s on the Square – New Orleans My wife and I stopped at Monty’s on the Square for breakfast while in New Orleans, and we had a great experience from beginning to end. One of the first things we appreciated was that there was no wait. We were able to get seated right away, which is always a big plus when you’re hungry and ready to start your day exploring the city. I ordered the Jambalaya Omelette, and it was delicious. This was probably my favorite part of the meal. The omelette was cooked perfectly and, most importantly, it wasn’t dry at all. The jambalaya inside gave it a really good Louisiana flavor and made it different from your typical breakfast omelette. It was filling without feeling overly heavy, and the breakfast potatoes on the side were cooked and seasoned well. I would definitely order this again. My wife ordered the Brunch Po’ Boy, which came with fried green tomatoes, eggs, bacon, lettuce, and rémoulade on French bread. Overall, she enjoyed it and thought the flavors worked really well together. Our only small complaint was that we both wished there had been more bacon inside the sandwich. With a little more bacon, it would have been even better. We also ordered a side of sausage, and that turned out to be a great choice. The sausage came out nicely cooked with a good flavor and was a perfect addition to breakfast. Sometimes a simple side can be forgettable, but this one was definitely worth ordering. The atmosphere at Monty’s was comfortable and casual, and it had a nice New Orleans feel to it. The portions were good, the food came out looking fresh, and everything we tried tasted good. Between getting seated immediately, the good service, the delicious Jambalaya Omelette, my wife enjoying her Brunch Po’ Boy, and that surprisingly good sausage, we left very satisfied. Monty’s on the Square was a great breakfast stop during our New Orleans trip. I would definitely come back, and that Jambalaya Omelette would be at the top of my list to order again.

Have been to Nee Orleans 4 times and never visited Monty’s but decided to Stop by for an early lunch. Daughter had French toast and said it was really good (she said it was better than Ruby Slippers’ 🤗) I had gumbo and it was delicious! The buttermilk biscuits were also really good. Our waiter was very friendly and overall we had a great experience. We will definitely return when visiting New Orleans.

It was a great spot for people watching , great service and friendly atmosphere. We ordered the fried cauliflower, it was quite tasty. Ordered the fried chicken sandwich, flavor was good but the chicken had been out a while and maybe fried twice to make it "fresh". The star of the show, for me, was the king cake biegnets. Tasted like deep fried cinnamon rolls.

First of all, I was really excited to come here for breakfast. It was very crowded, but they seated us fairly quickly. There was about an hour wait for the food but I wouldn’t have minded if the food was worth it. I ordered toast, and it tasted like bread that had been slightly soaked but still somehow dry. After looking at other reviews and pictures, I realized my toast was actually undercooked or maybe not even toasted at all; which was really disappointing. I also tried the pancakes my kids ordered, and they seemed rushed. They kept crumbling apart every time I tried to take a bite. The coffee and breakfast tea were actually good, so that was a plus. Maybe they were just overwhelmed at the time, but after such a long wait, I expected a much better experience.
