Hot & Soul definitely lives up to the hype! The vibe is super chill and unpretentious—just really good food on Banks Street. The Pho Old Fashioned was a fun twist on a classic and did not disappoint. The patatas bravas were hot, crispy, and well seasoned, but the real star was the chicken adobo. It was fall-off-the-bone tender, incredibly juicy, and packed with flavor. The rice soaked up all the delicious sauce, making every bite even better. There’s plenty of street parking, and they also have weekday happy hour starting at 3:30 PM. Overall, a great spot with flavorful food and a relaxed atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

This place is a great combination of great vibes and amazing food. Amazing variety on the menu and a great mix of sweet and savory flavors Definitely get the chicken adobo and even if you got main plates go ahead and grab a small bowl of the gumbo. You wont regret it.

I work right by this cute little shotgun and have seen it as many places over the years, and while I was so sad when the last place closed, I'm so excited that Hot & Soul came here! It has an interesting, culturally diverse menu, great ambiance, and the folks running it, we met Mike and Chris, were so sweet and lovely to talk to. They definitely put a lot of care into the food they are putting out. We got the H&S bibb salad, which was fresh, with fun pops of flavor and crunch, and not overly dressed, which I really appreciate. We then split a bowl of t seafood gumbo, which was incredible. I love a seafood forward stock for gumbo and this one had a great minerality that Mike told us came from the oyster brine he'd saved from the fresh oysters that eventually went into the gumbo. The oysters were perfectly cooked and there were ample crawfish tails and large shrimp to make this a hearty dish. We also got the crawfish spaghetti special, which was loaded up with crawfish tails, and also slices of garlic, onion, and calabrian chili oil which gave a nice spice without making the dish heavy. The drinks were fun too, get the cuba libre daiquiri if you like rum drinks! They have half priced drinks during happy hour, which goes til 6 so you can actually make it after work. We will definitely be back!!

Highly recommend Hot & Soul on Banks Street in New Orleans! Every bite of our meal was moan-worthy and the service delightful. Casual, unpretentious atmosphere in an oulde "shotgun" house. We are counting the days until we can return to this hidden gem of a restaurant in a city of known for superior restaurants.

Excellent food and fun service! In town for just the weekend and I had to eat here twice to try as many of dishes I could. The manchego toast is magical! Fish chowder- had no idea how yummy that can be! Pompano, beef stroganoff, chicken adobo…. More please! Then there’s the desserts…WOW! Ginger carrot cake with candied carrots, dulce de leche custard, and choco-coconut-strawberry glaze rice pudding!!! Can’t wait to come back to NOLA for this place!
