Mona Lisa
New Orleans

This place was our favorite Italian place on our visit to New Orleans. We had the cheese bread, the bruschetta, two different lasagnas, a sandwich and a pizza. Everything was incredible! Our kids loved that they could create their own Mona Lisa on the table and were hopeful there creations would be chosen for the menu or the table! Ha! The waitresses, Raven and I didn't get the other woman's name were incredibly sweet and even knew what our daughter was drawing from The Amazing Digital Circus, so bonus points for being cool! Highly recommend this place and much to see in the area.
From the entrance it was like a welcome from the smart and sparkly family member that you love. Immediate comfortable seating and prompt service. Everyone felt welcome. Loved all the themed art contributions. The pasta and everything was home made and the suggested wine pairing was perfect. Can't wait to to back.
Great pivot! My wife and I originally had a place in mind, but pivoted after seeing this place via Google. We came an hour before close and were greeted with open arms. Great customer service all around from both the front door greeter and the waitress. We were very surprised to see the crayons and paper on the tables. It made time fly by as we played hangman! Always a fun touch. We ordered the calzone and lasagna to share 1/2 and 1/2. We loved both, but the calzone is incredible. Very nice filling to bread ratio and their marinara/red sauce was divine. Incredibly rich and great texture for the calzone to dip in. Overall, a great spot for Italian in NOLA.
We ate at Mona Lisa Italian Restaurant while in New Orleans, and honestly, it was one of the best meals we had the whole trip. The food was amazing across the board. The lasagna was absolutely out of this world, and the stuffed mushrooms were just as good. The olive tapenade was so flavorful, and we also loved the spinach dip and bruschetta. Everything we tried was a hit. What really surprised me was the pricing. It was very reasonable, especially compared to a lot of restaurants these days, which made the experience even better. The location is super convenient if you’re in the Quarter, and the owner added so much personality to the place. He was hilarious and made it feel really welcoming. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town. Honestly, the only downside is that we don’t live in New Orleans anymore and have to drive to get a meal this good. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great Italian food in New Orleans.
I was in New Orleans for business and some locals recommended Mona Lisa. It’s a really cool spot — nothing fancy, but the food is genuinely good. I’m not usually a big pizza fan, but I decided to take a chance and try it, and I’m glad I did. I customized my pizza and it turned out delicious. We were a group of six and spent about $200 total, which included appetizers, main plates, drinks, and desserts. For the amount of food we ordered, it was very affordable. What makes the place even more unique is the atmosphere. There are different Mona Lisa artworks all over the restaurant, and you can even draw your own version right on the table. If they like your drawing, they might hang it up in the restaurant. Such a fun and creative touch.
