I had such an amazing experience at GWFins! From the moment we arrived, the service, food, drinks, people, and overall vibes were incredible. Everyone was so welcoming and made the experience feel genuinely special. We started with the ceviche and Fin Wings, and both were delicious. The Scalibut was definitely one of my favorites — beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The dumplings were also a great addition to the meal. The drinks were just as good! We enjoyed the Sandía Vodkas and the G. Rubentis Rosé, and everything paired perfectly with the meal. 🍹🌹 The atmosphere was lively, beautiful, and had such a great energy. You can tell the people here genuinely care about creating a great experience for their guests. I’d absolutely be back! GWFins is definitely a New Orleans spot I’d recommend and revisit. ✨🍽️🍹
Well well well!! GW Fins was a tremendously wonderful experience. Must mention Dannyell as she was a key element of our experience. She is charming, professionalism and very knowledgeable. Her recommendations for food and drinks were absolutely aligned with our needs. The bar staff curated delicious drinks. The executive chef and team are in a league of their own. Each appetizer and entrée was exceptional and presented beautifully. The dinning room provides a warm and classy feel, full of nostalgia. Thd vibe is high end but not pretentious! This is a NOLA must if you're in town. Will definitely make this a standard stop during future visits.
My wife and I had an exceptional experience at GW fin last night. We came in a bit earlier than our reservation but we're accommodated warmly and within a few minutes. We had quite an assortment of dishes but the standouts for me personally were the tuna fire cracker tacos. As well as the Scalibut being a must order. Our server Dennis did a great job as well as the other waitstaff on making sure we had any thing we needed. Overall they made it a super special anniversary dinner and my wife and I were both elated. Highly reccomend them.
★★★★½ GW Fins – New Orleans We had dinner at GW Fins during our stay in New Orleans, and it was a very enjoyable evening. The restaurant has an intimate, upscale atmosphere with white tablecloths and a classic French Quarter feel. One thing that surprised me was how casually most people were dressed. I probably felt a bit overdressed, but that’s certainly not a criticism, just an observation. The service was excellent throughout the evening. The staff was professional, attentive, and friendly without being overly formal. The food was the real highlight. We started with the beet salad, which was fresh and well prepared. My pork chop was outstanding, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and one of the better pork chops I’ve had in a long time. We also tried one of the restaurant’s signature seafood dishes Scalibut, and it absolutely lived up to its reputation. The seafood was fresh, beautifully prepared, and memorable. GW Fins is definitely on the higher end of the price spectrum, but the quality of the food, service, and overall experience make it worthwhile for a special night out. If you’re looking for a refined dinner in the French Quarter with excellent seafood and attentive service, I would absolutely recommend GW Fins. ⚜️🦞🍷🥂
GW Fins was recommended to us by a server at Brennan’s. I had also seen it in my research. It was spectacular! We went around 5:30 and did not have a reservation. The dining room was full for the evening and The bar was full, but were sat in the corner of the bar and were offered cocktails while we waited. We waited about 15-20 mins for a seat at the bar. Our bartender was FANTASTIC. He made a great martini and was very attentive. All of the staff were friendly and wonderful. Everything we ate was to die for. You have to get the lobster dumplings! We had the scallop carbonara and it was the freshest pasta I’ve ever had. If you are in the area, you have to stop by. The bar is the place to be!
