Was visiting from out of town and found this place in a search for local restaurants with good food. I came here with my family on a Sunday evening for dinner and we had a great experience. The vibe here is exciting—great music playing, staff were singing and diners were chatting away. The food on everyone’s plate looked amazing and our meals were so delicious—especially the homemade bread pudding and carrot soufflé! Will definitely visit again the next time I’m in New Orleans!
As I continue eating our way through New Orleans, Neyow's Creole Café easily became one of the highlights of our trip. This Black-owned gem lived up to the hype from the moment we arrived. We walked right in and were seated immediately, which was a great start. What really made the experience special was that the owner came over to our table, welcomed us, and gave us a few recommendations on what to order. That personal touch meant a lot and made us feel like family. His recommendation for the chargrilled oysters was spot on. My wife is still talking about them, they were easily the best oysters we had all week while eating our way through New Orleans. The filé gumbo was rich, flavorful, and exactly what you hope for when you're craving authentic Creole cooking. My wife's shrimp Creole was outstanding, with perfectly cooked shrimp and a sauce packed with flavor. Between the warm hospitality, incredible food, drinks and welcoming atmosphere, Neyow's is a place I'd recommend to anyone visiting New Orleans. If you're looking for authentic Creole food and want to support a fantastic Black-owned business, make sure Neyow's is on your list. You won't be disappointed.
Yesterday, my husband and I ate here for the first time! The ambience was amazing and the hospitality was very friendly! I got a cup of gumbo and a 6 in shrimp poboy! They both were delicious! And, my husband got the red beans with two breaded pork chops which he thoroughly enjoyed! We will definitely be back!
Good home cooking food at this place. The service was good and we meet some good people who also was celebrating their birthday too. We are from Houston but apparently they do charge a cake fee $15 to bring in your birthday cake and light it which is not common in our city. But our waitress was nice and didnt charge us. Had some good food for my 35th birthday. If you in the mood for some good southern home cooked food this is the place to go in New Orleans
We had a great lunch here. Fun and lively atmosphere! Great food! Friendly service. We have the crawfish fries, bbq shrimp and a shrimp po boy. Everything was fresh, excellent flavor and tasty. I would definitely go back. It was a leisurely lunch and quiet busy on a Sunday during Mardi gras so service was at a calm pace but it fit our vibe for the day.
