Addis Nola
New Orleans

I brought my mom and sister here on our visit to New Orleans for their first experience of Ethiopian food and they did NOT disappoint. We were all sooooooooooo satisfied with our perfect meal in their beautiful restaurant. The menu was much more extensive than other Ethiopian places I’ve tried, but our lovely server, who I’ve unfortunately forgotten the name of, helped us to order exactly what we wanted. We did order a LOT of food, but we took it to go and finished our leftovers the next day on the floor of our hotel room. Magnificent. I think if food tastes good cold, the next day on a hotel floor, you know you’re doing something right. Also the music was sooo nice. I was singing along to every song! I wish I could relive this meal and environment! Guess lll have to go back to New Orleans! (Also I KNOW this looks like a lot of food for 3, and it was, but we needed a veg plate for my sister)
Our server was kind and knowledgeable of the menu. The honey wine was very sweet, and paired well with the food. Get the Woo cocktail if you want the flavor but a stronger drink. The sambusa were really good and flaky, definitely a favorite item. We did get a few other items.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My first visit to Addis Nola was on Saturday, 7/18 and it completely exceeded my expectations. This was, without a doubt, one of the most delicious meals I’ve had in a while. We started with the beef sambusas and they were delicious, flavorful, and the crusty was fresh and flatly. We ordered the family style Endi-Endi Platter, which came with a whole fried snapper, ribeye steak, shrimp, rice, salad, sauces, chickpeas, and lentils. Every single bite was incredible. The flavors were perfectly balanced, the herbs and spices were on point, and everything was seasoned to perfection and the injera bread paired well with everything. This meal was shared between two people and we had leftovers. It was one of those meals that leaves you talking about it long after you’ve finished. The service was just as impressive. Blaze was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The music, the ambiance, and the decor created such a welcoming atmosphere that made the entire experience even better. We even met the owner. If you’re in New Orleans and looking for an unforgettable meal, I highly, highly recommend Addis Nola. I’ll definitely be back!
First of all, before I even talk about the amazing food, I want to mention how full of good energy this place is. The people and the owners are so kind, friendly, and chill. Every time I ate there, I felt like I was eating at a family friend’s house. I’ve never felt that way in a restaurant before. The atmosphere and the place itself are authentic, beautiful, and incredibly cool. Now, the food - I ate there three times in one month. I wish I had discovered this place earlier, and if I weren’t leaving New Orleans, I would keep coming back again and again. Honestly, it’s the one place I’m truly going to miss. The food is amazing, Absolutely delicious!!!! It just feels like home, you can feel that it’s made with love. You can feel the tradition, the attention to detail, and the thought that goes into every little thing. This place is truly incredible, and I recommend everyone to come here! Like, for real. This is the longest review I’ve ever written, and they deserve every word of it. I’ll miss you Addis. Thank you for such a special experience and memory. I hope we’ll meet again someday! ❤️
Our reservation was for 10. At the last minute we had one more person and the staff quickly made sure we had an extra seat. Our waiter, Blaze, was knowledgeable and attentive, and gave us great food and drink suggestions. We ordered 4 of the family meals and it was perfect, even had left overs. Everything was tasty, but the lamb, jollof, sambusas and collard greens were exceptional. We're already making plans to go back!
