This chef just keeps getting better in my opinion. The culinary menu is really good. We tried duck toast, tomato salad and shishitos. And the pork chop on the regular menu and pretty much everything else I have tried.
Great experience! New restaurant. Crab dip was great. Also had the Belgian Waffle and PhoMo which were good too. David (server) was attentive even though he’s new. Not too many people at 10am on a Monday, which was great for us. Keep up the good work! We’ll return.
All around great experience at this new French restaurant. I am still obsessing over the grilled cauliflower. The pork chop was hearty and glazed to perfection. We absolutely loved our desserts too. Will be raving about this place to my foodie friends.
Charmant Restaurant (Brunch) We visited Charmant for a family brunch, and the experience left us with mixed feelings. From the outside, the building gives off a bit of a strip‑mall vibe, but once you step inside, the space transforms into something much more charming. The white‑and‑blue French aesthetic is lovely, and the atmosphere feels warm and inviting. They were also very accommodating for our larger group, and the location is great for a stroll to City Park afterward. Since Charmant is newly opened, it didn’t have many reviews when we booked. I don’t usually take chances on places without an established reputation, but the menu looked promising, so we went for it. We had a reservation and were seated right away, which was appreciated. I also found several gluten‑free options, which is always a relief. The food itself was honestly very good. Everyone at the table enjoyed their dishes. Highlights included the little gem salad, avocado toast, Mom’s crab dip, and the phomo. Drinkwise, the lattes were delicious, and the Parfait Milk Punch was a standout—slightly sweet for my taste, but still superb. I definitely could have ordered another. I did have an egg shell in my egg and it was a little under cooked with some of the whites being raw still. Where things fell short was the service. Being in New Orleans sets a high bar for dining, and it was clear the staff here were still finding their footing. Our server seemed overwhelmed and unsure of many answers, which created some awkward moments. There was a lot of reaching over the table, a latte spilled onto plates, pastries arriving long after the coffee was gone, and repeated apologies about being new. It all added up to a sense that the training just wasn’t there yet. I genuinely wanted to love this spot, and the food gives me hope that they’ll get there. But everyone left feeling a bit disappointed by the overall experience. I’d consider giving Charmant another try once they’ve had time to iron out the service issues, because the potential is definitely there.
One of the best meals I've had in a while. The service was fantastic, the atmosphere is nice but the food is out standing. We went for brunch and will go back again because there is so much more on the menu we'd like to try.
