A friendly little spot with a cozy, homey atmosphere and wholesome food. While the food was good, it felt more like home cooking than restaurant-quality, but it was still well worth theprice! Our server was lovely and attentive, but short-staffed. Since she was managing all the tables alone this led to a few minor mix-ups but they were quickly resolved. The decor is quaint. The walls feature colorful painted signs and weathered furniture which gives it the space an eclectic, small town charm. Portions are fairly generous, and prices are reasonable. Overall, it’s worth visiting if you’re in the area and in the mood for comforting home-style cooking.

Tonight is our first night in NOLA, and our tour bus driver recommended this place. After spending the day walking for hours, we wanted a quiet, local place for a meal. Added bonus this was on Triple D. No reservations needed. We were seated immediately in a clean, comfortable booth. Service was immediate, and we ordered the shrimp platter and the seafood platter. Both were satisfying, prices reasonable, and portions generous. I would’ve liked something fresh on my plate, though. Bonus: Great neighborhood for walking and shopping.

Boy, they sure are friendly here. I visited twice in my most recent trip, once solo and once with a group. Both times they were so welcoming and friendly. The roast beef po boy is THE best po boy that I've ever had (and I've tried a bunch). The also have a chalkboard full of daily specials. Had the Redfish on my second visit along with fried green tomatoes....it was a perfect meal. Oh, and the draft beers are ICE COLD, which really hits the spot after walking around the Garden District in the heat. Highly highly recommended, I really love this place.

Wow… We were told by our hotel concierge to give this place a try for lunch and he hit the nail on the head! If you want something very nice, tasty, and spot-on NOLA for lunch, you should try Joey K’s! We arrived right as they opened for the day on a weekday and were quickly greeted and seated. Their menu has so many great options, especially for those (like us) looking for authentic local food. Based on pics in reviews, I knew I wanted to start with their onion rings, so we did and they were FABULOUS! They were perfectly fried, HUGE rings, that had a light batter which packed so much flavor. They came with a very nice remoulade to dip into as well and they tasted so very good! Since it was Monday my next choice was red beans & rice… theirs is pretty good. Not the best I’ve had, but solid and definitely something I can’t get back home! My main dish was half of a shrimp po boy and it was spot-on! The baguette was exactly what it’s supposed to be (which is really the main component of a legit po boy) and the shrimp were perfectly lightly battered and so flavorful inside the sandwich. This is what I dream of when I yearn for a Po Boy!! Service here was excellent and we really liked the vibe and décor as well. We enjoyed the food and experience and they learned later that this is a Triple D place (DDD = Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives)… It’s one of the very few I’ve been to that is legit. So many DDD places are over-hyped and end up either closing down or turning to crap – not this place! We’d definitely return!

I was full but couldn't stop eating. That's how good the food was here. Started by splitting an order of fried green tomatoes with my husband. The shrimp were delicious and the dipping sauce was outstanding. My order of fried eggplant napoleon was not what I was expecting but it was even better than what I had imagined. The fried eggplant was fantastic and the sauce stole the show again. Sadly I sacrificed some of the shrimp to be able to finish all of the eggplant since I was pretty full at this point....but then my husband made me try some of his friend catfish which I promptly dipped in these delicious sauces...and then I thought "I bet those sweet potato fries would taste amazing in this sauce " ...and I was correct! Suffice it to say, I'm glad I could still zip up my jacket by the time we called the Uber for a ride back to the hotel, Leftovers in tow!! The service was friendly and our waitress recommended a cocktail that tasted like a Mimosa with a shot of vodka. I had to resist the urge to order a second round. This is probably the best value we got for a meal the entire time we've been in New Orleans. 💯 per cent recommended. The menu has enough variety to satisfy almost any appetite.
