Loved the live music here! Everyone was very friendly. The drinks were amazing. We stayed until the show was over because the band was so entertaining! We didn't have food but would definitely return for the ambience and music.
During one of our evenings out on Frenchmen St, we were looking somewhere to have some dinner and came across Bamboula's, where they invited us in. They had a great band playing in the front with some patrons enjoying the scene and we ventured towards the back, where the hall opened up for places to sit and some guests were enjoying the vibe while waiting for their food. The bartender was wonderful and got us the menus. As hungry as we were, we realized there was a bit of a wait for the food (ours in particular) yet he made sure we were okay and checked in on where the food, was which we really appreciated. For the wait, we thought the food was worth the wait. I had the fried catfish basket and my boyfriend had the gumbo.
Wow this place was such a pleasant surprise! We randomly stopped in for a drink because they had some live Jazz. We ended up ordering some chargrilled oysters which were recommended by the bartender. These crawfish chargrilled oysters were sooooo good. You have to get them. The Brie and truffle butter ones were good too. The jazz was so good and the vibe inside was exactly what you want from NOLA. Highly highly recommend this place.
Great place for a meal and live music. 18 and under welcome. Great menu items. We were craving pub food and hit the burgers hard. They were fantastic. They have a great oyster bar and creole food options as well. Worth including in your night on Frenchman.
Needed to hear something besides the mixed music on bourbon street, and Bamboulas was perfect. Nice atmosphere. This weekend had Les Getrex (wow)!! If you’re around the quarter take the extra 11min walk to bamboulas on Frenchmen. No cover, great music.
