Description
Designated by Congress as the official WWII museum of the United States, the National WWII Museum spans five pavilions with historical exhibits, restoration workshops, a period dinner theater, and dining options. The museum presents the American experience of the war, explaining why it was fought, how it was won, and its lasting significance.
The Louisiana Memorial Pavilion features the “D-Day Invasion of Normandy” exhibit and showcases the Home Front story. The U.S. Freedom Pavilion displays restored WWII airplanes such as the B-17E Flying Fortress, along with tanks and trucks. The Liberation Pavilion, opened in 2022, covers the war’s final months and postwar years, linking history to present-day.
The Solomon Victory Theatre hosts the exclusive 4-D film “Beyond All Boundaries,” which immerses visitors in the war story with sound and effects. This film experience requires selecting the corresponding ticket option.

- Reservations made after 3:00 PM may result in a shortened visit
- The American Sector Restaurant & Bar is open Sunday to Friday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- Paid parking is available at the museum’s garage located at 1024 Magazine Street
