My kids and I visited Fritai yesterday, and everything was absolutely amazing from start to finish! For appetizers, we had the oxtail nachos and the Fritai platter, and both were delicious. We also tried the crab mac and cheese, which was incredibly cheesy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. For our entrées, we enjoyed legim with chicken, legim with cabrit, rice and sos pwa. To drink, we had grenadia juice, and I treated myself to some amazing Kremas. The food was outstanding, but what made the experience even more special was the atmosphere. The restaurant is spotless, beautifully decorated, cozy, and intimate. The service was excellent, and everyone made us feel welcome. As a Haitian, I especially appreciated hearing Haitian music playing and being able to speak Creole with the server and bartender. For a moment, I felt like I was back home. It was such a beautiful way to connect with and celebrate my culture while living in the United States. If you’re looking for authentic Haitian food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere, Fritay is a must-try. We will definitely be back!

The pictures do not do this delicious food. The tomato and peach salad, super fresh and bright, the oxtail nachos, beyond excellent, the shrimp kreyol, so well spiced but not that spicy so our toddler devoured it. I always get a griyo fritai sandwich and marvel at the perfect balance of this delightfully messy sandwich. I absolutely recommend.

If you have not been to Fritai, what are you even doing? This place was incredible! I have never had Haitian food before this and I have been missing out. The Akra was an absolute delight to the taste buds. I also got the shrimp dish and the sauce was superb. Caution tho, if you don't handle spice avoid the slaw as it will punch you in the face in the best way possible. 10/10 highly recommend.

We ordered the fritters (Akra) twice they were so delicious! I had the shrimp and my daughter had the fish! Fresh, perfectly executed dishes. Cocktails were delicious, the device implacable. We went early but by the time we left, it was packed. It’s worth the walk over from the French Quarters. We wouldn’t have know about this spot had our tour guide not told us it was one of his favourites in Nola!

I had an excellent experience at Fritai. The food was outstanding—rich flavors, perfectly seasoned, and clearly made with care. The griot was tender and crispy, the rice and sides were on point, and the sauces tied everything together beautifully. Portions were generous and presentation was great. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff was friendly and attentive. This place does a great job showcasing authentic Haitian cuisine in a modern, elevated way. Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in New Orleans. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience real Haitian food done right.
