Stopped by the iconic 24/7 market on my way out of NOLA since one of my local friends recommended their poboys. Cool spot and a decent shrimp poboy, but if you’re looking to get poboys specifically then I recommend Bear’s or Parkway or cross the river to the tiny hole-in-the-wall Time Clock.
Verti Marte is definitely a fun little stop in the Quarter. We tried the muffuletta - it was good, solid flavor, but not the best we’ve had in the city. The po’boy, though, had really nice seasoning and hit the spot. Just a heads‑up, the space inside is tiny and gets tight fast, so be ready to squeeze in and out. Overall, tasty food and worth a visit if you’re nearby.
I’m glad we made it here, Verti Marte is tiny but our food was delicious. We ordered a half pint of gumbo ($5.70) and the muffuletta ($15.50) to go and took it back to our room to eat. We shared both, plenty of food for two for dinner. The gumbo was especially tasty. With taxes and credit card surcharge it cost us $24.65. We will definitely go back when we are in NOLA again, I look forward to trying other items.
Verti Marte is a grocery store with a decent sized menu. Among other things, we read they had decent poboys. We got 2 to go for lunch, the softshell crab poboy and the oyster poboy. The softshell crab one tasted decent, but the bread portion was big. It's a big sub overall, but the dough to good stuff ratio was off. The oyster one had the same issue with too much dough. But the oysters were also on the small side and tasted kind of bland on their own. So overall, we didn't get a good impression of this place, and we continue to look for the best poboys in our trip to NO.
