We wanted some authentic New Orleans cuisine, but it was pretty late at night and our options were limited with what was still open. The food here was alright, but nothing impressive. I was especially excited for my friend to try alligator for the first time because I wanted her first bite to be GOOD, and unfortunately this was not it. It came out prepared two different ways, fried and grilled, which I guess was nice because we got to try both, but neither was that great. I may just have to take her to a North Carolina seafood festival for the real experience. The sausage came out hard and VERY well done, the bread roll wasn’t good, and the gumbo was pretty mid. I was also surprised there weren’t any homemade sauces to go with everything. Overall, it wasn’t terrible, but definitely not the New Orleans food experience I was hoping for. I now understand why people tell you not to dine on Bourbon Street.
Tried this place on a whim and it was surprisingly great food. Was what I was looking for. Had the mixed gator bites and they were the best I've ever had. The food was perfect and the drinks were pretty large and strong. Service was outstanding and it was cool and comfortable on the inside. Definitely going back when in town.
Definitely worth all the hype. Great place to go to, drinks were good, and food was really good. Had an awesome vibe, and the service was wonderful with Southern hospitality. Redfish was great, and especially the barbecue shrimp too. Portions were generous and everything was fresh will definitely be back.
The food was flavorful and spicy like Louisiana. The drinks are strong. The service was perfect. The waitress address all needs and request. She might have been the best in the town. The restaurant is good for a small group 2 to 6 people. I highly recommend Olde Nola for authentic Creole food.
I cannot say enough good things about my experience at Olde Nola Cookery. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by our server Jade and her trainee Shy. They were both so attentive and kind throughout our meal, making sure we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely delicious. The gumbo was packed with flavor and the red beans and potatoes were a true southern comfort food delight. Each dish was prepared with care and attention to detail, and it really showed in the taste. Not only was the food amazing, but the drinks were on point as well. The prices were very affordable, especially considering the high quality of the food and drinks. I will definitely be returning to Olde Nola Cookery in the future. Thank you Jade and Shy for such a fantastic dining experience.
