The food is hit or miss. I’ve been there at least 5 times in the past year. This time My husband and I came in for restaurant week. And each ordered the set menu. The crispy ribeye was AWFUL. It tasted like pork rinds that were burnt. The basil spaghetti again.. awful. It taste like green celery juice poured over undercooked noodles. We took the dessert to go so I haven’t had them yet. My husband enjoyed his lasagna. I tasted it. It was actually good. Crispy cauliflower was good too, but the plate was filled with chili oil. Like far too much for that dish. We each had one cocktail and the bill was 189$ after tip. The restaurant itself needs better seating. We had reservations and the place was really empty and they sat us right behind the hostess station. And they sat another couple right on side of us. That guy then proceeded to blow his nose. We dont need to be crammed together when the place is empty. I’m not into sharing boogers with the neighbors. Another table asked to be moved as well because it’s too loud. So booths or better seating to make it feel more intimate would be wonderful. So cost of food without it being good as well as lack of cozy seating equals a no return for me. They have too many other good options in the city. Wait staff was friendly and great service so zero complaints on that.
If you’re heading to New Orleans, do yourself a favor and make a reservation at The Bower—this place absolutely delivers. From the moment we sat down, the service was so warm and personable—it felt like we were regulars, even on our first visit. That kind of genuine hospitality just sets the tone for the whole night. Now the food…WOW. You have to start with the whipped feta and tuna small plates—both were packed with flavor and the perfect way to kick things off. The redfish was truly to die for—fresh, perfectly cooked, and one of those dishes you keep thinking about long after you leave. And the satsuma cosmo? So refreshing and unique…easily one of the best cocktails I’ve had in a while. And don’t even think about skipping dessert. The strawberry shortcake is next-level—with a biscuit that takes it to a whole different (and delicious) place. Everything from the atmosphere to the food to the service just clicked. Fun, flavorful, and memorable—The Bower is a must when you’re in NOLA.
We sat at the bar and had great service. The drinks are unique and delicious. I highly recommend happy hour. Not pictured were the chargrilled oysters that were on special on Friday. Everything was delicious.
Im from Montana and have been in New Orleans since Sunday. This place was hands down the best in every aspect! The price was worth every penny. Alexis was our server, she was everything you would want for a server, very informative and super sweet. There was 5 of us, we split 3 appetizers and 4 plates. The food was so delicious that we ordered the 4 different options for dessert, to split, and was equally satisfied ❤️ highly recommend!
