We enjoyed our meal at Maria’s Seafood. The seafood tower was fresh and well presented, and both the oysters and shrimp were flavorful. One thing to know is that the shrimp are served unpeeled, so you’ll need to peel and clean them yourself. Overall, a solid seafood experience with fresh ingredients.
One of the best restaurants I visited in NOLA. The oysters were absolutely delicious, and the wine list was impressive and diverse. I also had the chance to try some excellent American wines. I highly recommend Maria’s if you’re looking for great food, a good wine selection, and an overall fantastic dining experience.
We had a fantastic time at Maria's Oyster Bar! We were looking for an oyster bar and this was a great choice! All of the food was delicious and the drinks were spot on. The oysters were fresh and the ceviche was superb! We got the gumbo and crawfish/sausage pasta, which were perfectly cooked. Pricing was good and not outrageous. I appreciated that they have a "secret" kids menu of chicken tenders, shrimp, and grilled cheese. I also appreciated that they had a rotating mocktail. When we went it was a citrus sprizter and it tasted fantastic! I love that more places are offering mocktails for those that don't drink. They do a crawfish boil on Sundays starting at 1pm and it sounds like a great time! This is a definite must for anyone looking for a low key spot that makes excellent, fresh food!
Great time experiencing Maria's for the first time. I opted for a glass (or two 🤭) of Pinot Noir and some oysters. I went for a mix so I chose: Gulf Wild, Admirals & Murder Point. Bill was serving up the halfshells nicely and ensured I knew which set was which in my selection. The mignonette was a nice complement as well as their house made hot sauce. Highly suggest giving them a taste next time you are in the CBD area! 🦪
Maria’s Oyster House is a great, no-frills seafood spot right on Tchoupitoulas, just perfect if you want something more casual without sacrificing quality. The oysters are the main attraction—fresh, clean, and served exactly how you’d hope. Don’t skip the starters—the tuna dip and pimento croquettes are both excellent. The tuna dip is rich and flavorful, while the croquettes are crispy on the outside with a great, savory bite inside. Pricing is very reasonable for the quality and location, and their happy hour is a nice bonus with great deals. Service was friendly and welcoming, adding to the relaxed, local feel. Overall, a great stop for oysters —simple, authentic, and exactly what you want in New Orleans.
