This is my second time coming here and I’ll most likely make it a point to visit Hieux each time I’m in the city. I got a full pound of shrimp and a pound of crawfish. Very flavorful Cajun sauce and I even tried chargrilled oysters which were SO GOOD! (Especially with a little lemon juice). I’d highly recommend this place! I was here four years ago and got a fried shrimp basket which is also very good.
Loved my first seafood boil here! I ordered the Taste of New Orleans and it was plenty of food for 2 people with lots of shrimp, crawfish, and crab. Everything tasted super fresh and the buttery Cajun seasoning was delicious. We also shared a side of gumbo, which was rich and tasty. The service was friendly & prompt. Highly recommend this spot if you are looking for an authentic experience!
The crab cakes and shrimp boil were well-executed, but the service was consistently inattentive. Basic elements; such as timely table checks, cleanliness, and simple requests were repeatedly overlooked, resulting in unnecessary delays throughout the visit. While the kitchen shows promise, the overall experience fell below standard. In a region like Louisiana, where both cuisine and hospitality are held to a high standard, there are stronger options available.
We visited this place while on vacation, and we are from NC, so we were searching for a good seafood boil! We definitely found even better! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing! JD, the server was extremely nice and he always checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. We chose “The Shack” and we would highly recommend it! Prices are reasonable considering how much you get and how great it tastes!
