At the beginning of August I stopped by Chapin's Cafe for the first time. I was waiting for an event to begin, I was hungry and I had some time to kill. I saw the happy hour sign listing chargrilled oysters+ 2-for-1 drinks and thought that would be a perfect way to wait. The oysters were very good (small) but good. The drinks were ice-cold and well made - not always the case when it's a drink special. The food was so tasty I ordered food to go for my friends. I returned about a week later with my daughter and we ate A LOT. Wings, street tacos, eggs with cheese, and a quesadilla. I had a FANTASTIC bloody Mary and she had a crisp margarita with fresh lime juice. We finished brunch with beignets and Irish coffees. Everything was fresh, delicious, and made to order. Everyone was gracious and pleasant. Three visits in and this place is becoming an early morning and/or late afternoon fave. Looking forward to going back and trying the Sazerac, shrimp and grits, the Shuko, and the quesobirria, among other dishes.

Omg! The food is incredible. I come here whenever i visit Nola. The gumbo is out of this world. The red beans & rice. Just wow! Like no other. Then to top things Shea gives phenomenal service she’s very on top of it and responsive and really adds to the experience. I highly recommend visiting this place whether it be brunch lunch dinner or a snack. It is the real authentic experience.

This place was located one block from our hotel. We actually went twice because the food, drinks, and service were so great! The oysters here were actually better than some of the other oysters we tried in the city. Lee, and Kay have excellent service. We would definitely come back again.

The service was good and the food was excellent. People always run to the "popular" beignets places but this place is an hidden gem. It was walking distance from my stay at Drury Inn in Poydas Street. I ordered their grilled oysters, sweet tea, and beignets. Everything came out hot & fresh. I was so satisfied and happy. I definitely will be returning during my next visit to New Orleans.

This is an unassuming local spot. Great customer service and large portions. Where it can't be beat is the value. Best crawfish I had in New Orleans. They have an all you can eat crawfish special for $36.
