Reviews
**Honest Review** Common House New Orleans is nice for socializing and networking, but if you’re in school and looking for a productive place to consistently study, this honestly is not it. Yes, some days are quieter than others, but overall it’s more of a social environment than a focused workspace. The cleanliness is also a huge issue. The gym bathrooms are disgusting, and the showers constantly have hair stuck on the walls and look like they haven’t been deep cleaned in a very long time. The sauna is also very dirty and feels like it’s been neglected for awhile. Some of their rules honestly make the experience worse too. You can’t bring in outside food, so you’re basically forced to buy theirs — which wouldn’t be as bad if the food was amazing, but it’s really not. An $18 bowl somehow turns into around $25 after all their service fees, plus the minimum tip. The staff also comes across rude and unwelcoming at times. One morning I arrived early to study before opening. I genuinely didn’t know you weren’t allowed inside until they officially opened. The cleaning lady happened to be holding the door open and let me in. Then one of the workers/managers — thinner girl with black hair and lighter skin — immediately goes, “How did you get in?” After I explained the cleaning lady opened the door, she responded with, “Are you even a member here?” The audacity of that question honestly rubbed me the wrong way. Even when ordering food, the people bringing it out act like they don’t even want to be there. And honestly, if I could cancel my membership today, I would. But they make it almost impossible to cancel because of their contract terms, which just adds even more frustration to the experience. Overall, it’s just not worth it in my opinion. If you’re mainly looking for a good study/work environment with clean amenities and welcoming staff, I’d honestly recommend finding another place if possible. Trust me.
I am a member of the Common House in New Orleans. It is a great social club. I enjoy the weekly events they have and how it changes every now and than to keep it fresh. I like the ambiance there and the staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant menu is delicious and like how they change the menu to keep is fresh as well. It is my go to place to work if I do not want to stay at home to work. It is an overall great place with the rooftop pool and bar as well as the gym. I recommend joining and being a member.
