Wonderful breakfast at Criollo inside the Hotel Monteleone! I ordered the Aria Spa egg white omelet, and it was light, fluffy, and perfectly cooked, served with tender grilled asparagus exactly what I wanted for a healthy but satisfying start to the day. The yogurt parfait with fresh berries and granola was a lovely touch too. The service was amazing ..our server was attentive without ever hovering, and every detail was taken care of. The atmosphere is pure luxury: crisp white tablecloths, elegant table settings, and that classic New Orleans charm you’d expect from the Monteleone. Highly recommend for a refined breakfast in the French Quarter!
June 2026 update: we’ve eaten here many many times over the last few years and the last time we visited both flavor and service had declined. They also removed my favorite item, the fried green tomatoes, from menu. Great dining experience every time we've been here. We've tried the breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu items and been pleased with them all. The brunch portions are the largest by far so it's great for sharing! We love the fried green tomatoes, they're always perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. If you like pasta the lunch options are all delicious and start out vegetarian and then you select the added protein of your choice from their list of add ons, it's a great option that feels like it satisfies everyone. Breakfast and brunch have fewer vegetarian/vegan options but are still tasty so long as you're not looking for a high protein vegetarian breakfast. If you're staying in the hotel this is a great place to grab a bit and the wait for a table it typically short. Staff is all exceptionally helpful and polite.
Michael treated us like family and Cionne’s recs were perfect! The food was delicious and the presentation impeccable. The atmosphere is very classy and the service is warm. We will definitely be bringing family and friends here.
Criollo is such a gorgeous restaurant in the Monteleone hotel in the heart of NOLA. Criollo has the most incredible crabcake! The crab cake has a generous portion of jumbo lump cake finished with a delicious lemon caper butter sauce. I had the beignets for dessert & they were the best beignets I ever ate. The setting is beautiful, the food is delicious, and the service is good. Highly recommend this restaurant, especially for their jazz brunch on the weekends.
I went to try the Golden Beet salad in their brunch menu. It was outstanding and the staff was very attentive. I tried the Egg Sardou as well, it was good. They also gave a biscotti with the coffee, it is the first time any coffee shop has done that, the place is embedded within French culture indeed. They also have live jazz, it was pleasant.
