Nice place but the music is very load.
Usually I get the best cosmos ever here but I went on a Friday night during Cleo and got one cosmo that was all cranberry juice and another that tasted like wood? Sad to say the worst cosmos ever and the bar tender ( blonde with a braid or low pony, I didn’t even notice bc she was FaceTiming her boyfriend the whole time ??) , was M.I.A. hitting her vape. We normally have the best time ever here, but anytime we see this girl we will leave. If they fire the blonde braid for working during Mardi Gras I would continue to come back often. She was ignoring us but giving attention to her friends who were next to us the entire time. Me and my friends have been coming here for at least a semester and a half and have never had an experience like this. If see this bartender upon entry again, we will be turning around and going somewhere else, I refuse to pay $15 for a cranberry juice that tasted like wood again.
Monkey Hill Bar was the perfect New Orleans neighborhood spot for our New Year’s Day pre-wedding celebration, especially with so many out-of-town guests in town. It gave everyone an authentic taste of local bar life — relaxed, friendly, and full of personality. The team was incredibly welcoming and easy to work with in letting us host our group, and Hannah behind the bar was an absolute gem. She was so warm, fun, and attentive, keeping everyone happy and making our guests feel right at home. If you want that true NOLA neighborhood bar feel with great people and good vibes, Monkey Hill is the place. We’re so glad we got to kick off our wedding week here!
