The highlight of my trip to New Orleans! My family and I happened upon the Drinkery while we were out exploring Bourbon Street. You can't help but stop in when there's live music. The atmosphere is electrifying and draws you in. We were all instantly captivated by the band. I believe the band was called 'Bang Bang.' I just about fell in love with the lead female singer who had dreads all the way down to her waist. She has one of the most powerful voices I've heard and seemingly zero inhibitions when it comes to belting it out. She gives off a similar vibe to actress Dana Fuchs (Sadie) in the 1960s movie Across the Universe. Although Bourbon Street is not really my kind of scene, I kept coming back to the Drinkery for the band. They were taking song requests one night and I asked them to play 'Happiness is a Warm Gun.' Even though they hadn't sung the song in ages, they obliged and absolutely knocked it out of the park! That is by no means an easy song to play and they all killed it (in the best way)! I was starstruck and inspired as an amateur singer/musician myself. I think the band enjoyed playing the song just as much as I enjoyed hearing it because at the end of it they said, "Thanks for that." I hope I get a chance to go back to New Orleans and to hear this band rocking out again!
I would say this is the place for a beer drinker on bourbon. They had 18 local beers on tap and several other national beers. They also have a full bar as well but I'm more of a beer drinker in general. We stopped by here several times. The live music was good each time we went. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating was in the back and had a nice vibe. The bartenders were friendly and prompt.

The tap beers are always ice cold—exactly what you need while walking the Quarter—and there’s a solid variety to choose from. The atmosphere is lively without feeling overwhelming, making it easy to relax and enjoy the vibe. The service really stands out too—friendly, quick, and attentive even when it gets busy. And the live music? Absolutely on point. It adds the perfect energy to the place and makes the whole experience even better. Whether you’re bar hopping or planning to stay a while, this place delivers on all fronts. Definitely coming back!
To be honest I don’t remember much of this night. A couple of nights before Mardi Gras and I don’t drink alcohol, just don’t like the taste or the hangovers, so I hadn’t had alcohol in several years. Enter some kind of slushy fruity daiquiri drink and this is the result lol
Service was friendly and efficient. Happy Tuesday was the band playing tonight. The best band we've had the pleasure to listen to since in New Orleans. They play by request. Every band member so talented! I know music. Thanks guys for some great music!
