We stayed here on our honeymoon! It was absolutely lovely! The after hours directions were a bit confusing, the room had some very minor maintenance that could have elevated the experience (a towel bar needed tightened/repaired, a light bulb needed replaced, and a light fixture needed dusted--- truly no big deal), and the mattress was too firm for either of us, but it was so beautiful and the people were so fantastic! It was so peaceful at night, too! Don't hesitate to stay here! It's a joy! Plus! They have an adorable outdoor cat!
We cannot say enough great things about this place. It was so terrific that it will be a priority for us to stay here on our next visit. The location is very convenient to visits to the French Quarter, throughout the Garden District, Treme, the Marigny, the business district, and thanks to its proximity to the St. Charles Streetcar, even Audubon Park and environs is just a few minutes away. Our room (a cottage room) was well air-conditioned, lots of air movement (NOLA gets hot and humid!), very clean, nicely furnished, and quiet for sleeping. The staff are amazing. We flat out miss Kristen and it has only been 24 hours. Their artist in residence is wonderful company and everyone is genuinely interested in helping you make the most of your visit and they deliver! The people who live and work in this city are absolutely the MVPs of any visit. It’s remarkable. If you do it right, you’ll leave with phone numbers of new friends and this place starts the ball rolling. The breakfasts (both a warm option each day cooked by staff and the usual cold options) are wonderful. The courtyard is an absolute joy. I’ve never felt like a hotel or B&B was TRULY “home away from home” before now. Just a remarkable, wonderful place!
This was a great experience. The hotel was in a central location and we were able to walk to Magazine street in 20 min. The trolly is a block away and there is a park to walk through as you go towards Magazine. Our room was clean, unique and historic. The breakfast was fantastic with a few options and a hot breakfast that changes daily. The service was great from the start with a tour of the grounds at check in. The staff were friendly and offered suggestions on where to walk and dinner. One our best stays in New Orleans and would definitely stay again.
Absolutely perfect! I had a good feeling about this place before we even arrived and it delivered! I called ahead with a few questions and the gentleman who helped me was genuinely kind and easy to talk to and that really set the tone right away. It’s nice to show up to a hotel already feeling welcomed in advance. We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed every moment. The hotel has that classic New Orleans character without feeling stuffy or overly polished like a big chain. The high ceilings of the rooms made everything feel open and grand, and the decor had so much personality without trying too hard. Breakfast with Kristen and Cheryl in the mornings were also a big highlight. They’re warm, welcoming, and made it feel a little more personal than your typical hotel experience. Overall, it just felt comfortable and authentic. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone wanting something with charm in the Lower Garden District.
Third time staying here. I like the decor, ambience and friendly atmosphere at breakfast. It's easy walking distance to the places I need to go. The shower is a little too small. It would be nice to have some blackout shades on the windows that face toward the sunrise.
