My partner and I love a tiki bar, so the fact that we hadn't been to this place in the 3.5 years we've been together was crazy, but now that we've been, we will DEFINITELY be back! The drinks were awesome, the food was good, and the vibe was perfectly tiki, in dare I say a sort of classy way (is that possible?). The Nui Nui, and the old fashioned rum cocktail are must try drinks! We were celebrating birthdays so we had our own cocktails and a shared drink, every drink was tasty, a couple were downright impressive, and our server was friendly, super knowledgeable about the drinks, and the right balance of attentive but not hovering. If you live in Nola and don't often venture into the quarter, this place is worth the Uber, we will definitely be back to try more of the drink menu!!
To say this place is amazing is selling it short. But it is AMAZING, AWESOME, ALL THE NICE WORDS!! Let's start with the bar staff because this is where the story begins and ends really. They make this place amazing. Eric and Alex took care of us for days, literally! My husband is the tiki drink lover, me not so much and my grandmother, not at all. That didn't matter, they took care of us just the same and in the end we were able to find my tiki "profile", the Careless Navigator (which I like to think as the Lost Navigator because I'm a whiskey drinker that somehow found myself in a tiki bar 😂). My grandmother only wanted margaritas, which isn't on the menu (yet; I fully expect to see Alex's Joy on the menu when we come back next year!). Alex made the best margaritas and even made my son a lemonade which was also really good according to him and he is a lemonade snob/aficionado. All the drinks have elaborate presentations, sometimes looking too pretty to drink. And the food? DELICIOUS!! Just go and thank me later...
Best Tiki experience ever! Great vibe! Sat at bar. Loved our bartenders! Yummy Navy Grog and Outcast. The special crafted ice was delightful. Pimento cheese Rangoon were delicious and the red bean egg rolls tasted amazing with the hot mustard. So much fun!
Absolutely amazing NOLA find! Happy hour specials are awesome, drinks are killer and well crafted, food is even more outstanding I can’t been believe it. Crab Rangoon poppers on HH was awesome. So fresh. We also got the lumpia, garlic shrimp with miso garlic toum (you can cover me in that sauce till I die), chili crisp potatoes, and the meow bao which were catfish. Super fresh, super flavorful - only thing I wish that had a sauce or acidity was the catfish but it was still so good. Jorge our server (forgive me if you spell it differently!) was so awesome - definitely recommend asking him to serve ya if you want a stellar time.
WOW, this place is the ultimate atmosphere for a laid back tiki bar. Incredible and unique tiki drinks (strong), and out of this world tasty food. You really can not go wrong with anything you order. The pad thai with crab meat was so delicious we ended up ordering a second one. So many flavors in every sip and bite. Service was superb. Can not say enough positive things about this experience. Definitely we'll be back.
