The hotel is very nice for its pricing. The rooms seem a little quirky and small, for example ours was entered from an exposed outdoor walkway, after navigating a lot of steps up and dow. It had a small king bedroom open to the double sink area (withs a very nice lighted mirror) and a spiral staircase leading to a loft with a sofa bed and TV. The bar/restaurant is charming and the lobby small but decent. But the pool area really sets this hotel apart. It's truly an oasis in the middle of NOLA. Nice size pool, plenty of lounge chairs, and even a swim up bar (although not always open). It's relaxing and comfortable, although it wasnt crowded when we were there. There are a few places in the area in terms of walkability, but you wont spend all your time on the neighborhood. I would stay there again.
I honestly can’t rave enough about this place!!! Best pool in the city and the food and staff do not disappoint! We definitely have a couple of favorites but we love all the staff! Jake and Julian have my heart though! I feel like I’m on vacation every single time I’m there. These two keep everyone smiling, laughing, singing, and anything else fun! Customer service is what keeps the people coming! We love our new friend Fernando also. When I tell you this man keeps things clean, I mean it! Thanks for always making the pool area beautiful and clean for everyone! I wish I knew more names but they’re all great! We love it here!!!!!!!!! Side note- The frozen margaritas are delish!
This hotel has truly made my summer! It feels like a little getaway from New Orleans while still being right here in the city. My friends and I have literally spent every weekend at the pool all summer long, and it has been nothing short of amazing. The pool is phenomenal, and the music always makes me feel like I'm relaxing at a beautiful island resort. The biggest highlight of this hotel is, without a doubt, the staff. Jake deserves a promotion or some type of award because he has been absolutely phenomenal. He always makes us feel so welcome and does an incredible job creating the perfect atmosphere. From his beautiful ginger curly hairstyle to his amazing music choices and outgoing personality, he truly elevates the entire experience. We absolutely love him! A special shoutout to Julian, the swim-up bartender, who is always so sweet, attentive, and friendly. Fernando, who I believe is one of the bussers, also deserves recognition for his kindness and excellent service. Everyone here goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcomed. And finally, while I originally came for the pool, I now come back just as much for the food! I literally crave the blackened fish sandwich—it's absolutely delicious, and I order it every single time. If you're looking for the perfect staycation or day by the pool in New Orleans, I can't recommend this place enough. I already can't wait to come back!
A hotel with: Amazing service? CHECK! A gorgeous pool with a swim up bar? CHECK! Ample parking? CHECK! Cozy unique rooms? CHECK! We absolutely loved our stay at the GDH and WILL be staying again. From the get go, Ryan at the front desk went out of his way to make us feel welcome and special. He was incredibly professional and added a personal touch to every conversation we had with him in passing! We spent a lot of time at the pool where the drinks and food were amazing. The room was extremely clean and comfortable with a giant TV perfect for World Cup viewing. My husband and I have stayed in many New Orleans hotels but none compare to this one. Can’t wait for our next stay!
We had such a wonderful stay at the Garden District Hotel! As a travel agent, I tend to view hotels through a pretty wide lens, and this property truly stood out. The entire hotel is such a vibe from the beautiful lobby and pool area to the cozy lobby bar atmosphere. The service was exceptional from start to finish. The check-in staff and bartender were honestly 15/10 and made the experience even more enjoyable. We ordered the shrimp ceviche and it was delicious, and everyone we encountered was incredibly responsive and welcoming throughout our stay. The location is fantastic, and we felt very safe the entire time. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it for girls’ trips, birthday celebrations, or just a fun quick getaway in New Orleans.
