It is very rare that I give out less than 4/5 stars on a review, but this was necessary. The rooms were nice don’t get me wrong but the service was terrible. Our rooms were never cleaned, the dirty towels that were used and put in a pile on the floor were never taken out and replaced with fresh towels, we had to go ask for towels ourselves. The valet service just did not feel right at all, came back to our car with items moved around and not in their original place as we left them. The location of the hotel was great it’s near the whole city but the service of the hotel was not it at all.
We went to 3 different room before we could settle in. The first bed had red stains on the mattress and sheets. 2nd mattress felt horrible. It was time to replace it. My husband and I toss and turn all night. The 3rd bed was better. Overall breakfast was good. Valet service was great! Locations great!
So this is the fourth year in a row we've stayed in this hotel and every year ***prior*** has been an amazing experience staff are friendly and helpful there's always security right at the front door. However I've been checked into this hotel for four nights now and every single night after working all day I have to go down and request new towels because housekeeping has not deemed it necessary to step foot in my room one single time. I'm not sure when this hotel stopped providing housekeeping on a daily basis but I feel like they should start discounting these rooms a bit if they're not going to care for their customers while they're in them. This is after having to change rooms when we first checked in because the AC in our original room was broken. Do better *Hilton* Hampton Inn
I usually stay at a Hilton property in the Warehouse District but decided on this Hampton Inn close to the Quarter for its price and location. That being said, the room was OK--it is obvious this hotel is due a major renovation. Nothing was wrong...it just seemed "old". Service at the front desk was great! They were helpful and gave me all of the coffee packets I wanted--thanks! The location is AWFUL! There were so many homeless people sitting up against the hotel wall starting sundown. Friends would drop me off at night (after dinner) and say: "don't go out at night--stay in your room" because of the riff-raff loitering around the hotel entrance. One friend (who knows the city well) said the fried chicken place at the corner was a known drug dealing location. While this isn't the hotel's problem, it was a problem for me. I will go back to the Warehouse District next visit even it it's a little more money. It's much safer there and OK to go out at night.
I had a pleasant 24 hour stay with the Hampton on Cardondelet St. I was visiting for work. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Elevators were easy to navigate. Not too long of a wait as is with some large city hotels. Check in was easy. Breakfast is on second floor and had a good selection. Close to everything but people on the street are quite sketchy until you get to Canal St. I also had to use their business center in the second floor for printing and it was easy to use.
