St. Joe’s has been my favorite neighborhood staple for years. The ambiance and drinks are incredible (the blueberry mojito is my go-to), and the bartenders have always been consistent, welcoming, and a huge part of what keeps people coming back. That’s why it came as such a shock to so many of us to see Meg let go, especially as the only woman on staff. St. Joe’s has always been a great bar, but Meg made it exceptional. She’s upbeat, incredibly attentive, and has a way of making everyone feel taken care of. What really set her apart is how she created a space where women felt comfortable, safe, and genuinely welcomed, whether they were regulars or walking in for the first time. Because of her, I’ve personally seen a whole new wave of women become regulars who likely wouldn’t have otherwise. Her presence didn’t just add to the atmosphere, it expanded the community. A lot of us feel strongly about this and would truly love to see her back behind the bar. It would mean a lot not just personally, but for the broader community that she helped build at St. Joe’s.
