Stopped here to drop my neice off at Xavier University. This was the closest bar in the hotel. The staff here was so accommodating. Jayden spoke and conversed with my friends and I. He is named “The oldest 25 year old we have ever met” Darren was my main bartender. We had an awesome conversations about being old and trying to communicate with the youth. He was so cool he named one of my baby hens. Darren is named “Chopped Unc Namer of chickens”. (I will post a pic said baby chick, her name is Katrina Katrina Katrina). The music was jamming. The playlist was curated by “Dj Gina of the 80’s”.
The downstairs space and the pool bar are both lovely. Note the pool doesn’t have much shade/covered areas so be aware for rainy or super hot days. Drinks at downstairs bar were really tasty. Food Menu is limited to small plates/snack foods. We were just there for drinks before dinner and only tried the bread service which was 3 out of 5. Bread was cold and kind of stale 😔 but all in all it’s a lovely place.
Excellent food here! The atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxed but elevated. We had the crudo, beef tartare, pave potato & caviar, and the baked lobster escargot style. Everything was delicious, as were the drinks! We also booked space on the rooftop after for a group birthday gathering and the service was truly amazing. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Allie coordinated with me the whole time about when to bring out the cake, shots, etc. and was so warm. The two guys working the rooftop bar (I'm so sorry I am forgetting their names) were also awesome. All around a really great experience!
Delicious food. Had the bread service, creole cream cheesecake, and a meat plate. Also the mocktail, the Stormy Weather, was perfect. My server, Melly, was awesome and attentive. The bartender, Alexis, was also great. Yall go check out this new place!
May 2026: Went to the grand opening of Charles and Julia. It’s tucked right into the corner of St. Charles and Julia, and they’ve nailed that "effortless cool" vibe. Open from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM (Sun-Thu) and 11:00 AM To 11:00 PM (Fri-Sat) makes it the absolute perfect destination for a quick drink after work. You can grab a stool, order one of their hand-crafted cocktails or mocktails, and dive into a few shareable bites without the pressure of a full, heavy dinner. If you head upstairs, you’ll find a stunning rooftop bar that feels like a hidden gem. There’s even a tucked-away pool that adds to the total escape from the city hustle below. For tourists, it couldn't be easier to find since it sits right on the St. Charles streetcar line, but it’s just as convenient for locals, with plenty of street parking available on Julia Street between Magazine and St. Charles. Whether you’re catching the streetcar or driving in, it’s a seamless transition from the workday to a relaxing evening. It’s definitely the sophisticated yet laid-back addition the neighborhood needed.
