The artwork is really cool, but they definitely water down their liquor. I ordered a gin and tonic and couldn't taste any gin. I watched the bartender pour my partner's drink, which was a heavy pour of vodka, and it still tasted like nothing. This was in the afternoon, and it was our first drink of the day so we weren't drunk. I totally understand why bars in the French Quarter would water down their booze, but this was in the middle of the day and we were charged full price. This place isn't worth the visit.
Visited Ghost Bar on Iberville St and it turned out to be a standout spot in the heart of the Quarter. The atmosphere is a perfect blend of playful and stylish — dark-accented décor, a hint of mystery, and just enough energy without being chaotic. What I liked: The cocktails were thoughtfully made — creative and well-balanced, which shows the bartenders know their craft. The vibe was relaxed yet lively: friendly service, good for a casual drink but also enjoyable as part of a night out. Love that they had more than just a standard bar menu — patrons compliment pizza and other bites alongside the drinks. Things to note: It can get busy later in the night, so if you’re looking for a seats-and-chat vibe the earlier the better. The menu is cocktail-forward, so if you prefer a wide beer or wine selection you might find fewer options here. As with many popular spots in NOLA, check your tab carefully — I saw a review noting confusion over drink pricing. Overall: Highly recommend Ghost Bar if you want a memorable drink in a bar that brings character and craft. Whether you’re in full “night out in New Orleans” mode or just looking for a quality cocktail, this place delivers. I’ll definitely go back.
