Our recent stay at the Kimpton Fontenot in New Orleans was nothing short of exceptional. We’ve stayed in many hotels over the years, and this property truly stands as the model for how a hotel should be run. From the moment we arrived until the day we checked out, every single staff member made us feel genuinely welcome. What impressed us most was that this wasn’t just the way they treated us—they treated every guest with the same warmth, professionalism, and kindness. It’s rare to see such a consistently guest-focused culture throughout an entire hotel. A special thank you goes to General Manager Jesseca and Assistant General Manager Alex. Their leadership is evident in every aspect of the property. You can tell they’ve built a team that takes pride in what they do, and it shows in every interaction. The team at Gospel Coffee Bar deserves recognition as well. Starting each morning with friendly faces, great service, and excellent coffee became one of the highlights of our stay. We’d also like to recognize Maria at King for breakfast. She made every morning feel welcoming, and her hospitality was the perfect way to start the day. We also traveled with our miniature pinscher, Brooklyn, and the Kimpton Fontenot rolled out the red carpet for her. She was treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. Having a cozy dog bed waiting in our room, along with food and water bowls and toys, made her feel just as welcome as we did. It’s clear that this hotel doesn’t simply advertise itself as pet-friendly, it genuinely embraces pets as part of the family, and Brooklyn absolutely loved every minute of her stay. Housekeeping was outstanding. Our room was impeccably and pristinely clean every single day, and it was obvious that great care was taken to maintain the highest standards. The Kimpton Fontenot doesn’t just provide a place to stay, it delivers a true hospitality experience. Every department worked seamlessly together, creating an atmosphere that was warm, polished, and effortlessly welcoming. The level of service we experienced is incredibly rare, and it speaks volumes about the culture Jesseca, Alex, and their entire team have created. Thank you to everyone at the Kimpton Fontenot for making our visit to New Orleans so memorable, not just for us, but for Brooklyn as well. We left feeling like we’d found a home away from home, and we can’t wait to return. We will enthusiastically recommend the Kimpton Fontenot to anyone looking for an exceptional hotel experience in New Orleans.
Staying there for a Conference. We stayed in the newly renovated rooms and they were great. No coffee pots in the rooms but they didn’t have free coffee from 6 AM to 9 AM every morning that included oat milk. But honestly, one of the best parts of staying here is the coffee from the coffee place in the hotel. It’s so good. The service was great. The Peacock room is beautiful and the food was delicious. Your accommodations for the Conference went well. No pool or hot tub, which is unfortunate They must’ve had a brand new air conditioner because it was so cold. Make sure you keep asking for water every day. Each room comes with an umbrella, so don’t forget that because it does rain a lot.
Exceptional Elite Stay with Fantastic Dining & Perks We recently wrapped up a 4-night stay at the Kimpton Hotel Fontenot as IHG Diamond Elite members, and it was a fantastic home base for enjoying the end of crawfish season and attending the ADA convention. The location is absolutely perfect being incredibly convenient to both the Caesar casino and the French Quarter. As Diamond members, the included daily breakfast was an extremely useful perk that saved us a ton of time and money. We spent our first two mornings at King, but moved over to the Peacock Room for the final two days. The Peacock Room was significantly more refined, and the service there was much more accommodating and attentive than what we experienced at King. Beyond breakfast, the cocktails at the Peacock Room were excellent, and you absolutely cannot miss the bread pudding! Another great perk was the evening social hour. They served wine and egg rolls each day, which was a unique, high-quality touch that really added to the overall experience. Pro-tip for future guests: Definitely use the Kimpton social password at check-in! We got to spin the wheel for bonus points, room upgrades, and free drinks. The Room & Amenities: The room itself was very comfortable, clean, and spacious, though the design felt just a little sterile. However, the staff went above and beyond to make it feel like home—Rae at the front desk was absolutely great and so accommodating, ensuring a microwave and a coffee maker were brought up to our room as soon as we requested them. The hotel elevators were incredibly quick throughout the stay. The fitness center is a bit on the cramped side, but the equipment is high quality and the treadmills were quite good for getting a solid workout in. Overall, between the stellar elite recognition, top-tier cocktail program, and prime location, we had an amazing stay. We would definitely choose the Fontenot again next time we are in New Orleans!
We attended a wedding in the CBD, and the entire wedding party stayed at the Kimpton Hotel Fontenot afterward. The hotel is beautiful and does a great job reflecting the city’s character and history. Conveniently located between the French Quarter and Uptown, it’s an excellent option for out-of-town guests looking for easy access to everything the city has to offer. From the moment we arrived, the valet and front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, and we appreciated being able to check in to our room early. Although we didn’t dine at the hotel during our one-night stay, we did stop by the Peacock Room bar. The bartenders were quick, personable, and made excellent cocktails. Overall, we had a great experience and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
