Bacchanal Fine Wine & Spirits
New Orleans
Avis
The food was amazing! The live music was good. It’s sort of “self serve” but worth the effort! The wine was great and the vibe is super chill. Loved it!
Such a wonderful and unique place! You can choose a bottle of wine and select different cheeses and meats individually. The staff then arranges everything beautifully on a plate with bread, olives, pickles, mustard, pretzels, and house-made preserves. You pay the listed price for each cheese or meat, plus a plating fee: $6 for one or two items, $8 for three, $10 for four, $12 for five, or $14 for six. Gluten-free crackers or extra bread cost an additional $3. It’s a great way to create your own customized cheese board and try exactly what you like. The atmosphere is relaxed and lively, making it a perfect place to spend an evening with friends, enjoy good wine, and listen to music. Definitely one of the most memorable places we visited in New Orleans!
Beautiful venue. Live music. Plenty of space. Courtyard & upstairs bar inside/out. Plenty of selection for wine & beer. Ordered a sangria & the grilled steak w| fries & chimichurri could’ve been wayyyyy better. Steak medium still chewy but needed MORE SALT. wasn’t seasoned to be fully enjoyed.
i spent time in new orleans recently, and when i posted that i was at bacchanal, so many of my friends replied and said, "omg i love that spot!" which i think sums it up. You can pick out a bottle of wine at the front (or you can buy by the glass from the second floor bar) and pick out items for a charcuterie board (I didn't do this and was instantly filled with regret because the Bacchanal staff plate the meat and cheese sooo beautifully with ample bread and mustards and fixings). They also have a kitchen with full entrees and appetizers and as soon as I saw the menu, I had to order the grilled sardines because that is nearly impossible to find in the U.S. and they were soo incredible. They have regular live music and a great outdoor seating area with plenty of tables. Easy to spend hours here for a relaxing afternoon and completley lose track of the time!
Everything was phenomenal. Bacon wrapped dates, the porchetta the chicken confit and the port wine was all amazing. Will be going back to New Orleans just for the food!
