We stayed here with « The Edit » via my Chase card. Lovely property and we thoroughly enjoyed staying here for two nights. We used our hotel credit for lunch and drinks by the rooftop pool, and we also took advantage of booking one of many local restaurants that are part of the Chase dining credits. We enjoyed drinks the first night via the Edit deal and the second evening we enjoyed a cocktail each through Virgin’s loyalty program called The Know. Staff was excellent and the property has a joyful and playful vibe. The only thing I wish that I had realized ahead of time is that the hotel credit cannot be used to cover parking. I would stay here again but use a parking app to find somewhere less expensive and nearby. Also, we have been to NOLA many times, and we enjoyed staying for the first time in this part of town and visited many art galleries. We particularly loved Orleans Gallery. We also walked back from the garden district after dinner one evening and felt safe and was a lovely walk past beautiful homes.
I travel all over the country and internationally, so I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels, and I can honestly say the team at Virgin Hotels New Orleans set the standard for what hospitality should look like. Chris and Sam were outstanding. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel genuinely welcome and treated me like more than just another guest. They were professional, respectful, attentive, and always willing to go above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. Their positive attitude, communication, and attention to detail made my entire stay smooth and stress-free. Employees like Chris and Sam are a huge reason guests come back. They represent the Virgin Hotels brand with pride and deliver the kind of customer service that builds loyalty. It’s rare to find people who truly enjoy what they do, and it shows in every interaction. Thank you both for making me feel at home. Because of this experience, I’ll absolutely be staying at Virgin Hotels New Orleans again, and I’ll be recommending this hotel to my family, friends, veterans, and fellow travelers. Chris and Sam deserve to be recognized for the excellent work they do they’re a tremendous asset to the team.
Upon arrival, I asked for a quiet room, and got placed in 915. I found it to be very quiet without any disturbance. The room was spacious. The king bed was super comfortable, although I would have preferred it to be slightly more firm. The Les Bois products smelled really nice. I ate breakfast each morning of my stay, and was fortunate enough to have Mary as my server 3 mornings in a row. I also had dinner at the bar on my second night, and Eric provided great service. I had the frittata, ricotta toast, and French toast across my mornings, and they were all delicious although I do think the breakfast/brunch menu could use some expansion. I had the gulf fish for dinner and it was tasty. Overall, it was a nice stay.
We recently stayed at the Virgin Hotel in New Orleans and the overall experience was good, but the way things ended left a bad taste. We booked through Amex, which comes with a few perks, one of them being late check-out. We asked about it when we checked in and were told it was fine. Then the morning of check-out, they came back and said 4 PM wasn't available anymore and the best they could do was 2 PM. Already annoying, but okay. The front desk agent at least tried to meet us in the middle and offered 3 PM. Then the manager, Cedric Williams, got involved. He was condescending, talked to us like we didn't understand how hotels work and then walked back the 3 PM his own staff had just offered us. We ended up at 2 PM anyway, except now we also felt disrespected. Honestly, the check-out time wasn't even the biggest deal. It was the attitude. There's a way to deliver bad news without making guests feel like they're being difficult for simply expecting what they were promised. A couple of other things worth mentioning: the AC in our room was all over the place and the service was hit or miss depending on who you got. Some staff were great, others not so much. We'd probably give the property another shot, but they need to do better with consistency and especially with how their management handles situations like this.
The car wallet service is great. All the staff was so quick and very courteous and my vehicle was parked in a covered garage. It is a charge of $55/per day. The room I had was excellent, very French decor. HOWEVER, the one window faced a brick wall. Virgin is an international chain that says they are upscale HOWEVER - additional DAILY charges for things like workout room and swimming pool brings them to MOTEL 6 vibe. I have stayed at very upscale to mid-chain hotels and NEVERI have I been "additional" charged for basic amenities. All of the staff very courteous and professional. The coffee bar barisitta was extremely kind, professional and made excellent dirty matcha lattes!
