Nice room with odd choices in placement of furniture. Terrible staff. They don't always answer the phone. There wasn't always someone at the front desk. When I checked in the website said self parking was $47 and valet parking was $48 and the desk agent said that the $47 was the price after tax for self parking and the $48 was the valet price before tax. I pointed out that the website price was what they needed to honor, so instead of doing that, they changed the website over night and then said the website never said that. They also told me that self parking was in a garage they didn't own and I'd have to pay on my own and then come to them to check my car in the next day because they couldn't do it at check in. I was soooo confused and got ripped off. Also, the pool that is advertised on the Hyatt site actually is in the Hyatt Regency next door, and I don't think they have cleaned it since the Reagan administration. The breakfast was good. Overall I wouldn't choose this hotel again.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. But I wanted to give special recognition to Bryce who works valet. He was the friendliest person I’ve met in a long time. He always had a smile. Always said hello and offered help or recommendations. He was always happy to chat while I would wait for my uber or Instacart food orders. Thank you, Bryce, for making my trip so welcoming.
Overall, this is one of the best hotels, ever! A short walk from the Superdome. The friendly and professional front desk staff are problem solvers. No run around. The room was very clean. Breaksfast area was kept clean, and the food good. There was an adjacent lodge area, where you finish your coffee and quietly take in the view. All the best to the entire staff for a wonderful stay.
Hyatt House was the perfect home base for our New Orleans trip! We stayed in a suite with a full kitchen, and it made such a difference being able to have breakfast and snacks in our room. The layout felt like a high-end apartment rather than a hotel room. Everything was incredibly clean and the staff was so welcoming. 5 stars for the extra space and the modern, comfortable vibe!
Great hotel, they upgraded us to a room with an amazing view. Super clean breakfast was great. However, word of warning is the parking garage has some very scummy and shady practices to try and make you pay more and if there is an event it took 2 hours to get out. I tried to reach out to the parking company and they refused to do anything or communicate.
