Wow. A ragged and starving lot ambled from Tipitina’s to what we thought was surely a mirage. Don’t let the word tavern fool you. The food here is otherworldly! Everything was divine, and small plates so you could try (and I suggest you do!) many things. Cocktails were impeccable and the beats were on vinyl. Bless the late kitchen and the fun cast of characters that took care of us last night! Don’t miss the hush puppies!
Every 4-6 months give it another try. But again…welcome is non existent, always made to feel like you should be thankful to exist here and be able to spend money. No water…and cocktails and wine took ages. Soggy burgers, forgotten side that we still got charged for (arrived after check). Writing this review more as a reminder to myself to not forget the ever dissatisfying experiences. Server was nice.
Excellent food, drinks, and atmosphere. They don't take reservations so you may have to wait depending on what time you arrive. The fries are a must. The deviled eggs can be skipped (too bland). The chicken wings are excellent. They come with a sauce in the side that is good, but the chicken by itself really shines. The broccolini dish is excellent and so are the cheese puffs. I like their mixed nuts and olives the burger is good too. Drinks are reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly. Hush puppies are probably my favorite dish here. Cook on the duck was excellent. It fell right off the bone. Brussel sprouts were good, but the broccolini is better.
I recently met a couple friends here for a late night dinner and we enjoyed every moment and taste of the night! Great selection of drinks as well as a well-thought-out menu geared to satisfy any palate. And they’re open LATE!
