Rented out a room for a night out. It was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was peaceful, staff was amazing and so sweet, and everything was in a good walking distance. Definitely cant wait to come back again.
Booked a room on whim based on the aesthetics of online pictures and absolutely loved my stay here. Though I spent most of my time outside of the hotel/my room, I loved the history and how picture perfect it was. When I arrived, I got the backstory about the hotel previously being a family home with cottages in the back for guests. There are only 2 balcony's that 3 rooms have access to. Being my lucky day, I got one of the rooms with the shared balcony, that hosts skyline views. There is a lower courtyard patio for the social media worthy photo ops as well as a rooftop bar. I did see other guests checking in, but rarely saw or heard anything outside of that. Loved the large windows for the natural lighting (there are shades to drop for privacy). They offer housekeeping by request only, which I prefer. There is not room service, but I don't ever utilize it, even if it's an option. I caught an Uber from the airport but looks like there is street parking on the block and is just a few blocks outside of the quarter, definitely still walkable to/from though. Over all I would love to come back to my exact room on another trip.
We were content with everything in the room except the temperature. I did not get much sleep because the room was too hot. The ac was not working and the hotel had a temporary mobile air unit in the room but I feel it wasn’t big enough to cool the room. It is May in Louisiana. If I return I will definitely check on that first. Great location and great staff at the front desk!
Staying for a week at Catahoula was a great experience. The hotel is super conveniently located in New Orleans's CBD, allowing to walk to all of the city center. The building and interior's space is really nice and chill, in striking contrast to the surrounding area. The room was clean and confortable and the private terrasse was a nice addition. It was quiet at night except occasionally due to other noisy guests. The hotel staff are very friendly and attentive, and responded to all my requests with the utmost care. All in all, a specially great hotel, and at an affordable price. Thank you Catahoula!
